poly usually has to be sanded off but i've heard dad's easy spay will remove it without damaging the wood

Try Formbys Furniture Refinisher with a tooth brush. The stuff leaves a clean surface when done with no goop like regular stripper. No water rinsing either so the grain won't raise.

I used Citra Strip on my Model 70. worked good but did need 3 applications to completely remove the poly. Best part is no bad odors. As stated above a tooth brush work great on the checkering without...
